The UK premiere of Joby’s one-act opera Everest is to be given at Barbican Hall, for one performance only. Gene Scheer’s taut libretto relates the events of a tragic 1996 ascent of the mountain by a group of climbers, many of whom never returned.
Soloists Kelley O’Connor and Tobias Greenhalgh, with Britten Sinfonia and Britten Sinfonia Voices, will give the first public performance of A Sheen of Dew on Flowers, Joby’s new cantata commissioned by the Victoria and Albert Museum to celebrate the acquisition of Queen Victoria’s coronet.
Live broadcast of the Royal Ballet's performance of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland across the UK and Europe. Check Royal Ballet website or your local cinemas for screening details.
