Joby's critically acclaimed collaboration with librettist Gene Scheer (Moby Dick, Cold Mountain) resulted in his opera debut, a one-act account of the disastrous 1996 Everest climb in which several people were killed when a powerful storm engulfed the peak. Here presented by Theater Hagen under Joseph Trafton in its European premiere, the work will be sung in the original English with German surtitles. Seven performances will be given, between 5 May and 1 July 2018.
