Sing opens in cinemas

Sing, the new animated feature from the studio responsible for Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets and with an original score by Joby, opens across 3500 screens in the USA. The film is written and directed by Garth Jennings, for whom Joby scored The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) and Son of Rambow (2007).

Alice's Adventures at The Royal Danish Ballet

The Royal Danish Ballet stages its premiere run of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with 20 performances from 3-22 December 2016. Christopher Wheeldon's adaptation of the classic Lewis Carroll story features an acclaimed original score by Joby and lavish designs by Bob Crowley. Commissioned jointly by The Royal Ballet and National Ballet of Canada and premiered in 2011, the work has since been taken on by the Royal Swedish Ballet and is also set to be staged by the Bayerisches Staatsballett and the Australian Ballet in 2017.

Chroma at The Royal Ballet

Chroma, Joby's first collaboration with Wayne McGregor, will be presented as part of a triple bill by its originating company, The Royal Ballet, in collaboration with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in celebration of McGregor's tenth year as Resident Choreographer. The 2006 work is choreographed to original pieces by Joby alongside his arrangements of songs by The White Stripes. There are five performances from 12-19 November.

The Winter's Tale at The Royal Ballet

The Winter's Tale at the Kennedy Center

Fool's Paradise at Wiener Staatsoper

The Wiener Staatsoper will present three dance works by choreographers Stephan Thoss, Jerome Robbins and Christopher Wheeldon, the latter being Fool's Paradise for which Joby adapted his piano trio The Dying Swan for string orchestra.
