Soloists Kelley O’Connor and Tobias Greenhalgh, with Britten Sinfonia and Britten Sinfonia Voices, will give the first public performance of A Sheen of Dew on Flowers, Joby’s new cantata commissioned by the Victoria and Albert Museum to celebrate the acquisition of Queen Victoria’s coronet.
Joby's signature a cappella choral work, 2005's Path of Miracles, will be presented by Tenebrae, its commissioning ensemble, in the Basilica of Saint Denis as part of the 2018 Saint Denis Festival.
Here presented by Theater Hagen under Joseph Trafton in its European premiere, Joby's critically acclaimed Everest is a one-act account of the disastrous 1996 Everest climb in which several people were killed when a powerful storm engulfed the peak.
Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles was the first major work commissioned by the award-winning professional vocal ensemble, Tenebrae, in 2005 and having received high acclaim (“an evocative odyssey” – The Times) returns this year for an extensive UK tour. The work is here performed as part of the Canterbury Festival.
