Wayne McGregor's Genus, for which Joby collaborated with LA music producer Deru on an electro-acoustic score that features the Duke Quartet and Tenebrae, will be performed by Toronto's National Ballet of Canada, the first company to stage the work since its originating company, the Paris Opera Ballet.
Chroma, Joby's first collaboration with Wayne McGregor, will be presented as part of a triple bill by its originating company, The Royal Ballet, in collaboration with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in celebration of McGregor's tenth year as Resident Choreographer. The 2006 work is choreographed to original pieces by Joby alongside his arrangements of songs by The White Stripes. There are five performances from 12-19 November.
The National Ballet of Canada give five performances of Christopher Wheeldon's acclaimed ballet The Winter's Tale, with a vibrant score by Joby, at the David H. Koch Theater as part of New York City's 2016 Lincoln Center Festival. For more information and tickets, visit the Festival website.
